From 2019 to 2025, I worked with Good Business Network of Washington—a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the local economy—as a contracted developer. I collaborated with the team to build, revamp, and maintain a suite of websites spanning multiple program areas, each with its own audience, content needs, and technical challenges.
My work included building the organization’s flagship site in WordPress, complete with a searchable Good Business Directory highlighting locally owned, community-focused businesses. I led full redevelopment of the Seattle Restaurant Week website, migrating content into a more flexible CMS architecture with Advanced Custom Fields and developing a robust search experience—with eateries filterable by neighborhood, cuisine, dietary preferences, and more.
I also created Northwest Sewn, a directory focused on supporting the Pacific Northwest textile industry. The centerpiece is a dynamic, AJAX-powered supplier directory with filterable search by ownership type, business type, accreditation, sustainable practices, and keyword, making it easy for community members to find and support values-aligned local businesses.
Lastly, I redesigned the Good Food Kitchens site with a focus on drag-and-drop usability for staff, and provided ongoing support for other programs like Seattle Made across WordPress security, SEO, analytics, and light front-end changes. It was meaningful, multi-faceted work with an organization whose mission I genuinely believe in.
